Give Your Patients a Faster Path to Wellness

About Us

Our story starts in 1999 with a frustrated caretaker for a patient.  The caretaker was Dr. Ken Rosenblum who worked as an Emergency Room physician in Minneapolis.  After taking his own child to an ER at night, Dr. Rosenblum needed to fill a prescription for amoxicillin, a common antibiotic.

Driving around in the middle of the night looking for an open pharmacy, he questioned why patients had to work so hard to get their medications.

Dr. Rosenblum believed that patients should be able to start taking medications immediately after seeing their providers.  And he was determined to turn this vision into reality to improve the lives of patients at the time of greatest need.

He partnered with engineers, physicians and pharmacists to build what is now known as InstyMeds – the world’s most advanced, most tested, and safest automated dispensing system at the point of care.

We dispensed our first prescription to a patient in Minnesota in 2001. Since then InstyMeds has dispensed millions of prescriptions on three continents as we expand access to medications and help patients feel better faster!

InstyMeds Medication Adherence System

The InstyMeds System is an innovative point-of-care medication dispensing solution that ensures patients leave their care site with prescriptions in hand. Fully integrated with existing e-prescribing workflows, InstyMeds validates orders in real time, verifies medications with triple-barcode safety checks, and dispenses securely labeled prescriptions directly from an on-site dispenser. By eliminating the extra step of visiting a pharmacy, the system improves primary medication adherence, boosts patient satisfaction, and streamlines operations for providers, all while maintaining strict safety, compliance, and inventory control.

‘Pharmacy desert’: Donnelly clinic debuts vending machine for medicine

Amidst pharmacy deserts, Eden Prairie-based medicine vending machine company helps provide access

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The fight continues to try and stop so many pharmacies from closing.

On Tuesday, some state lawmakers publicly backed five new bills that they say will fix a broken system. In fact, experts say 24 independent pharmacies closed last year in Minnesota alone and more are expected this year.

In the meantime, a unique business based in Eden Prairie is stepping up to maintain access for people in areas called pharmacy deserts — and its CEO says it combines the security of an ATM with the simplicity of a pop machine.
