Therapeutic vertical

Pediatrics and Neonatal recruiting and talent strategy.

Pediatric care concentrates in children's hospitals and a limited number of academic centers, which makes the account list short and the approval process formal. Clinicians expect device sizing and evidence specific to small patients, and pediatric devices carry their own engineering, clinical study and regulatory demands. Reputation travels quickly in this community, for engineers, clinical staff and commercial teams alike.

What we search

Inside pediatrics and neonatal.

A search usually sits in one of these areas, and often spans two or three.

01

Neonatal intensive care

Incubators, ventilators and monitoring for premature and critically ill newborns, along with vascular access, phototherapy and feeding products. Nursing leadership and neonatal nurse practitioners hold real influence, so human factors, systems engineering and clinical education shape adoption through a formal review that includes biomedical engineering.

  • Human Factors Engineer
  • Clinical Education Specialist
  • Capital Sales Specialist
02

Pediatric surgery

General and thoracic surgery in children, including congenital anomaly repair, where instruments and implants must exist in small sizes and are often adapted from adult lines. Design for small anatomy, pediatric regulatory pathways and support for rare cases matter more than throughput.

  • Product Development Engineer
  • Regulatory Affairs Manager
  • Clinical Specialist
  • Key Account Manager
03

Pediatric orthopedics

Scoliosis correction, growth-friendly spinal constructs, limb deformity correction, hip dysplasia and fracture care in growing skeletons. Implants have to account for future growth, so specialized design and long-term clinical follow-up sit alongside in-room support with a wide inventory of sizes.

  • Implant Design Engineer
  • Clinical Research Associate
  • Clinical Specialist
  • Territory Manager
04

Pediatric cardiology

Congenital heart disease care, covering transcatheter closure devices, pulmonary valves, stents sized for children and surgical repair, with ECMO and monitoring in the intensive care unit. Small patient populations make clinical trials and regulatory strategy hard, and case support requires real familiarity with congenital anatomy.

  • R&D Engineer
  • Clinical Trial Manager
  • Field Clinical Engineer
  • Clinical Specialist
05

Growth and development

Growth disorders, developmental and behavioral screening, newborn hearing and metabolic testing, and nutrition support. Much of this happens in general pediatrics and public health programs, so laboratory science, software, reimbursement and adherence programs shape uptake.

  • Laboratory Scientist
  • Software Product Manager
  • Market Access Manager

What makes it hard

Where pediatrics and neonatal searches go wrong.

The assumptions that cost the most time, and what tends to be true instead.

“Adult device experience transfers to children's hospitals”

Children's hospitals buy through their own group purchasing arrangements, run separate value analysis and ask for sizing and safety evidence in pediatric populations that adult data doesn't supply. People used to arguing adult outcomes find the meeting ends early. Those who have worked with pediatric accounts know which claims are allowed and which questions come next.

“Pediatric devices are scaled-down adult devices”

Smaller anatomy, growth, different physiology and tiny trial populations change the engineering, testing and regulatory approach, not only the dimensions. Engineers and clinical leaders without pediatric experience often underestimate how long evidence takes to build. Look for people who have taken a pediatric indication through design and submission.

“Low volume means the line needs no clinical support”

A neonatal or congenital case may be the first of its kind at that hospital in months, and the team will want someone in the room who has seen it before. Support of that depth can't come from someone who carries the line part time. Companies usually need dedicated clinical people even when unit counts look too small to justify them.

Roles we fill

Individual contributors to executive leadership.

The same vertical knowledge applies across commercial, clinical, R&D and engineering, regulatory, quality and operations, whether the seat is in the field, the lab, the plant or the boardroom.

How a search runs

Four steps, every time.

The same sequence whether the seat is an engineer, a clinical lead or a territory in pediatrics and neonatal, or the executive who builds the team around them.
