Home Health, Long-Term Care and Aging recruiting and talent strategy.
Products for the home move through providers, suppliers and payers rather than a hospital purchasing committee. A prescription starts the process, but coverage criteria, prior authorization and documentation decide whether the order is paid and whether it stays paid on audit. Products have to work without a clinician present, so engineering, human factors, service, reimbursement and clinical program talent matter as much as the commercial team.

Inside home health, long-term care and aging.
A search usually sits in one of these areas, and often spans two or three.
Home care devices
Oxygen concentrators, home ventilators, wound therapy units and infusion pumps set up in a patient's residence. The customer is usually a home medical equipment provider or home health agency, and success depends on equipment a family can operate safely, on service logistics and on rental reimbursement.
- Human Factors Engineer
- Field Service Manager
- Reimbursement Manager
- National Accounts Manager
Hospital at home
Acute level care delivered in the residence, combining remote monitoring, connected devices, in-home clinical visits and command center software. Health systems buy the program rather than a single product, so clinical program leadership, software engineering and customer success sit beside enterprise solution selling.
- Clinical Program Manager
- Software Engineer
- Customer Success Manager
- Enterprise Account Executive
Fall prevention
Personal emergency response systems, wearable and ambient fall detection, and monitoring used in senior living and skilled nursing. Detection accuracy, sensor and algorithm engineering and clinical validation decide whether facility operators and consumers trust the product.
- Sensor Engineer
- Algorithm Engineer
- Product Manager
- Business Development Manager
Chronic disease management
Remote monitoring and coaching programs for heart failure, diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and similar conditions managed over years. Revenue comes from monitoring reimbursement or risk-bearing groups buying reduced admissions, so enrollment, clinical operations and documented outcomes drive the business.
- Clinical Operations Director
- Outcomes Research Manager
- Market Access Manager
- Account Executive
Assisted living technology
Nurse call, resident monitoring, wander management and the record systems that run a community. Installations touch every building in a group, so systems engineering, implementation and long rollouts matter as much as corporate agreements.
- Systems Engineer
- Implementation Specialist
- Product Manager
- Strategic Account Manager
Durable medical equipment
Mobility equipment, seating, beds and daily living products supplied under medical necessity rules. Complex rehabilitation depends on product engineering for each configuration and on therapists who document it, and a funding denial undoes the order, so design, clinical education and reimbursement knowledge all sit at the center.
- Product Design Engineer
- Assistive Technology Professional

Where home health, long-term care and aging searches go wrong.
The assumptions that cost the most time, and what tends to be true instead.
“A hospital seller will pick up the home market”
Nothing in this channel closes at the bedside. The order is written by a referring clinician, filled by a supplier and paid by a payer that can deny it months later, and each party has to be worked separately. Commercial hires who have never managed a referral network or defended a claim on audit tend to sell volume that never converts to paid revenue.
“Designing for the home is the same as designing for the hospital”
A device a nurse operates in a unit has to be redesigned for a patient or family member at home, with no clinician present, a different power and network environment and a much wider range of users. Engineers and quality teams without home-use experience underestimate human factors and service needs. Look for people who have taken a product through home-use validation.
“Hospital at home is a technology sale”
Programs stand or fall on operations. A health system has to staff visits, move supplies, handle escalations overnight and bill correctly, and the buyer is asking whether a partner can run that. Leaders from provider operations or enterprise health system work usually carry this better than executives with only a device background.
“The best candidate has the perfect resume.”
Some of the best candidates I have worked with did not check every box, but they had a track record of success, were coachable, worked hard and really wanted the opportunity. You can teach someone a product and an industry. It is much harder to teach drive, attitude and the ability to connect with people.

“Good candidates have to come from the hiring manager's specific background or space.”
Good candidates adapt and pick up what they do not know, usually quickly. Humans are adaptable, and the good ones succeed more on their intangibles than their hard skills.
