Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery recruiting and talent strategy.

Plastic and reconstructive surgery splits into hospital based reconstruction, where payers and value analysis govern, and cash pay aesthetic work bought by the practice owner. Implants, biologics, patient specific devices and imaging behind both carry demanding engineering, quality and regulatory requirements. Product, clinical, regulatory and commercial teams have to work two very different buying paths.

What we search

Inside plastic and reconstructive surgery.

A search usually sits in one of these areas, and often spans two or three.

01

Breast reconstruction and augmentation

Implants, tissue expanders and acellular dermal matrix used after mastectomy, alongside elective augmentation. Implants carry long-term safety, registry and post-market obligations, and one surgeon is often reached through a reimbursed hospital path and a cash pay practice path at once.

  • Territory Manager
02

Craniofacial

Plates, screws, distractors and patient specific implants for cleft, trauma and congenital reconstruction, much of it pediatric and concentrated in academic centers. Virtual surgical planning and custom manufacturing turn each case into an engineering project coordinated between the surgeon and the company.

  • Additive Manufacturing Engineer
  • Field Clinical Engineer
  • Professional Education Manager
03

Hand surgery

Small bone fixation, wrist arthroplasty, tendon and nerve repair, plus carpal and cubital tunnel release. Cases run through orthopedic, plastic and trauma surgeons, and much of the volume has moved to ambulatory centers, so design efficiency and multi-channel coverage both matter.

  • Product Development Engineer
  • Product Manager
  • Clinical Specialist
  • Territory Manager
04

Microsurgery

Free flap transfer, nerve repair and vessel anastomosis supported by microscopes, couplers, fine sutures and perfusion imaging. Procedures run long and sit with relatively few surgeons, so optical and imaging engineering and deep support of a short account list define the work.

  • Optical Engineer
  • Imaging Scientist
  • Clinical Specialist
  • Capital Sales Specialist
05

Lymphatic surgery

Lymphovenous bypass and vascularized lymph node transfer for lymphedema, supported by indocyanine green lymphography and bioimpedance measurement. Referral pathways and coverage are still being established, so clinical research, surgeon training and reimbursement work lead.

What makes it hard

Where plastic and reconstructive surgery searches go wrong.

The assumptions that cost the most time, and what tends to be true instead.

“Aesthetic and reconstructive talent is one pool”

The two serve different buyers entirely. Reconstruction clears hospital value analysis and depends on coverage and published evidence, while aesthetic products are bought by a surgeon acting as a business owner. A strong hospital-facing hire can stall inside a private practice, and the reverse happens just as often.

“Patient specific implants are a standard manufacturing job”

Each case combines imaging, virtual planning, design and additive or custom manufacturing on a deadline, inside a quality system that has to validate a process rather than a single part. Engineers and quality leaders who have only run standard product lines often struggle with that. Look for people who have run a patient specific program end to end.

“New procedures grow by training more surgeons”

Training a surgeon doesn't create cases. Lymphatic and complex reconstructive procedures need a referral source, a screening pathway, clinical evidence and a coverage argument before volume shows up. Leaders who staff only surgeon training produce trained surgeons and an empty schedule; the right team includes clinical, market access and therapy development talent.

Roles we fill

How a search runs

Four steps, every time.

The same sequence whether the seat is an engineer, a clinical lead or a territory in plastic and reconstructive surgery, or the executive who builds the team around them.

  1. 01Define

A Talent Director who knows your specialty scopes the role, what it has to deliver and the profile that actually wins in your market.

  2. 02Search & vet

We reach passive candidates others can't, then screen for skill, culture fit and motivation before you see a single resume.

  3. 03Present

Three to five qualified, interested candidates with our written assessment. Interviews are coordinated for you.

  4. 04Close & onboard

Offer strategy, counter-offer prep and a 90-day check-in so great hires become long-term ones.
