Therapeutic vertical

Sleep Medicine recruiting and talent strategy.

Sleep sits between a physician diagnosis and a supply relationship that lasts years. Testing has moved largely into the home, therapy is dispensed through durable medical equipment providers and increasingly through direct channels, and payers require documented adherence. Device and sensor engineering, software and data, clinical, market access and commercial teams all shape whether a patient starts therapy and stays on it.

What we search

Inside sleep medicine.

A search usually sits in one of these areas, and often spans two or three.

01

Obstructive sleep apnea

Positive airway pressure and masks, oral appliances, hypoglossal nerve stimulation and airway surgery. Treatment choice depends on severity, anatomy and tolerance of pressure therapy, so mask and device engineering, implant clinical trials and referral relationships between sleep physicians, dentists and ENT surgeons all decide where volume goes.

  • Clinical Specialist
  • Market Development Manager
02

Insomnia

Cognitive behavioral therapy delivered digitally, prescription treatment and behavioral programs. Many are sold to health plans, employers and health systems as programs with engagement targets, so software engineering, clinical evidence and customer success drive renewal.

  • Software Engineer
  • Clinical Psychologist Program Lead
  • Customer Success Manager
  • Enterprise Account Executive
03

Sleep diagnostics

In-lab polysomnography, scoring software and the sensors and amplifiers a sleep lab runs on. Remaining buyers are selective and want integration with their reporting systems, so signal processing, software support and technologist training weigh as heavily as hardware.

  • Signal Processing Engineer
  • Software Engineer
  • Clinical Applications Specialist
  • Territory Manager
04

Home sleep testing

Testing devices worn at home and read remotely. The economics depend on device cost per test, logistics and the share of studies that come back usable, so sensor engineering, algorithm development and operations matter as much as channel sales.

  • Algorithm Engineer
  • Operations Manager
  • Channel Sales Manager
What makes it hard

Where sleep medicine searches go wrong.

The assumptions that cost the most time, and what tends to be true instead.

“Winning the prescription wins the patient”

A physician can order therapy and still have no say in which brand of equipment arrives, because a durable medical equipment provider or a direct channel fills the order under its own contracts. Teams that only call on sleep physicians leave the fulfillment relationship to someone else. The people who move share here understand provider margins, resupply cadence and adherence rules.

“Adherence is the patient's problem”

Payers tie continued coverage to documented use, so a patient who stops using therapy takes the revenue with them. Mask design, comfort, connected monitoring and support roles that fix early frustration protect the business. Companies that staff only engineering for the device or only quota-carrying sellers tend to show strong starts and weak retained volume.

“Connected sleep products are consumer electronics”

Home testing devices and connected therapy platforms collect clinical data that drives diagnosis and coverage, so accuracy, validation, cybersecurity and regulatory clearance govern every change. Engineers and product leaders from consumer wearables often underestimate that. Look for people who have shipped regulated connected products.

“The best candidate has the perfect resume.”

Some of the best candidates I have worked with did not check every box, but they had a track record of success, were coachable, worked hard and really wanted the opportunity. You can teach someone a product and an industry. It is much harder to teach drive, attitude and the ability to connect with people.

How a search runs

Four steps, every time.

The same sequence whether the seat is an engineer, a clinical lead or a territory in sleep medicine, or the executive who builds the team around them.

  1. 01Define

A Talent Director who knows your specialty scopes the role, what it has to deliver and the profile that actually wins in your market.

  2. 02Search & vet

We reach passive candidates others can't, then screen for skill, culture fit and motivation before you see a single resume.

  3. 03Present

Three to five qualified, interested candidates with our written assessment. Interviews are coordinated for you.

  4. 04Close & onboard

Offer strategy, counter-offer prep and a 90-day check-in so great hires become long-term ones.
